The Return of Christ
The return of Christ, also referred to as the Second Coming of Christ, is when Jesus Christ will return to Earth from the right hand of God. At that time it is believed that the dead will be resurrected and everyone will be judged. There are many references in the Bible to the last judgment day as well as many views and interpretations of what the return of Christ will entail.
Many believe that all will be judged and the Kingdom of God will be established here on earth. Some people believe there are many signs that have already indicated that the return of Christ is near. One of these signs is the outbreak of many wars and much violence. With the ongoing war in Iraq, this can certainly be seen as one interpretation of these signs. Another sign is there will be a lot of natural disasters, which can also be said of modern times with the great numbers of earthquakes, hurricanes, and other disasters in the very recent past.
The rise of powerful religious and political figures on the world stage is yet another potential sign. With the rising popularity of Presidential candidate Barack Obama, some of have speculated that he is a potential sign of the last days. These are only a few of the many signs to watch for in the coming years.
